Well, I'm pleased to say that actual reconstruction on Men of War has begun. I suspect it will be ready for Role Playing in close to two or three weeks. To give you an idea, if you wanted to start creating a new character before the board opened, here is some basic information about the new setting. The time is January 1805. The island in question is called Tarquintia, a former Roman province, history for which is being written. It lies in the Mediterranean, some 450km east by north east of Gibraltar, and 250km south of the Spanish cost (approximate measurements). There has been permanent settlements of the British, Spanish and French. In early 1805, Britain France and Spain started positioning larger and larger military forces there, with hostilities rising on both the European mainland and coast. The Peninsular war has not yet begun, so Spain is not yet allied with either France or Britain, and other powers are beginning to make a presence on the island, such as Prussia.

More info to come later. Any questions, please ask here, or by email.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, it seems that the Pipes and Drums of the 5th/6th Battalion of the Royal Victoria Regiment is going to SCOTLAND to participate in the first ever Gordon Highlanders Homecoming International Beating Retreat. That will be taking place between the 30th of July to the 2nd of August in the city of Aberdeen. And so, I extend an invitation to you members of Devia who are in Britain to come and watch and, perhaps to meet the famous Brigadier Casey... Private Casey... slight difference in rank, and position, and uniform, and country. It will be like a Military Tattoo, but focused on the Gordon Highlanders (92nd Highlanders). Aside from the British Military, there will be performers from Canadian, South African, European and of course Australian military pipes and drums who are affiliated with the Gordons. This is a PDF file of the flyer for the event: [link]

Hope to see some of you there.

"It's the Soldiers of the Queen, my lads,
Who've been, my lads, Who've seen, my lads,
In the fight for England's glory, lads,
Of it's world wide glory let us sing!

And when we say we've always won,
and when they ask us how it's done,
we'll proudly point to every one
of England's soldiers of the Queen!"
