Final Stand at Port Arthur

This a scene from the battle at Port Athur, looking at how Colonel Casey, and the 1st Bn 61st Royal Marines made their stand, to allow the civilians time to escape aboard the docked ships.

The shot is facing south, which would be towards the main gate, facing away from Fort George. In the foreground, you can see Casey, and the first two ranks of the 61st, waiting for the order to fire at the approaching Imperials. Behind them, you can see the cobblestone road next to the docks, and the buildings and shops that line the road. In the background, you can see the 3rd and 4th ranks of Royal Marines, waiting for the first two ranks to fall back, before they join the battle.
