Virtue, Vanquish, Liberty

Here is an older piece, coloured only recently and now seemed an appropriate time to put it up. Here we have a battle aboard ship, probably the HMS Virtue. Shown here, are Admiral David Vyse; Royal Navy, Commodore John Paul Jones; US Continental Navy, and Brigadier Benjamin Casey; HM Royal Marines.

It is a desperate defensive battle. A Devian Imperial Vessel has attacked Virtue, and has boarded her. Out numbered, and surrounded, these three senior officers fight to live in the face of numerous Imperial soldiers. Vyse is pictured in the foreground, Casey in the middle ground, and Jones in the background. Vyse here is educating the imperial gentleman, about the fact that no one messes with the Royal Navy. The Duke is using initiative famous in British officers, using a part of someone else's broken sword to deal with his opponent, and indeed, fists are useful form time to time. Jones, sharing the skill of his swordsmanship with his imperial partner.
